Arts and crafts

Arts and crafts play a key role in nurturing and developing children at École Bilingue Chardin. In both preschool and elementary school, they offer the opportunity to explore various materials and techniques (painting, collage, modeling, drawing…) while fostering fine motor skills and creativity. These activities promote personal expression, patience, and concentration, while providing a space for free and playful experimentation. Additionally, they contribute to the cognitive and emotional development of students, enabling them to express their emotions and refine their aesthetic sense. Finally, arts and crafts encourage teamwork, self-confidence, and pride in the work accomplished.

The Benefits of Arts and Crafts

Arts and crafts in preschool and elementary school play a key role in children's development. It promotes fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration, while generating creativity and imagination. By handling different materials, children gain autonomy and self-confidence, learn patience, and develop their observation skills. These practical activities also help introduce fundamental concepts in a concrete way, making learning more engaging and rooted in sensory experience.

The Ideal Exhibition

Every year, the school organizes an exhibition featuring an artist. This helps raise children's awareness of art, while stimulating their creativity. Here are the steps involved in organizing this exhibition:

The artists are chosen in advance by the teaching team for the entire school.

In class, each child creates two works inspired by the chosen artist, using various techniques appropriate to their level. The work is supervised by the teachers with dedicated time in class. A collective work is also created to strengthen the class's cohesion.

The Ideal Exhibition takes place every year at our third campus at 34 Avenue de New York. All families are invited, and the students proudly present their works.

Such an exhibition not only helps develop children's artistic sensitivity, but also strengthens their self-confidence and pride in creating.
