Swim Class
Students at École Bilingue Chardin go to the municipal swimming pool, Emile Antoine, once a week in CP/CE1 from September to March and in GS from March to June. Swimming provides numerous benefits for children:
Motor Skill Development
Swimming helps strengthen motor coordination by working on both upper and lower body movements. Children learn to synchronize their arms and legs, improving their balance and flexibility.
Physical Endurance
Water activities are an excellent way to build endurance without the risk of injury, as the water supports the body. Children gradually develop their cardiorespiratory capacity, which benefits their overall health.
Muscle Strengthening
Swimming engages almost all the muscles in the body, promoting balanced muscle strengthening and improving posture. This helps children become more agile and have better posture in their daily activities.
Relaxation and Stress Management
The water has a calming effect, helping children manage stress and emotions. Swimming promotes muscle relaxation, which also has positive effects on the children’s mental well-being.
Preparation for Everyday Life
Knowing how to swim is an essential life skill in many everyday situations. It enhances children’s personal development, helping them feel more autonomous and capable.

Motor Skills
Motor skills at École Bilingue Chardin are a priority for us. Indeed, they play a crucial role in the development of children, fostering their coordination, balance, and body awareness.
