Hello, my name is Laura, and I am an anglophone teacher.
I am working to develop a bilingual curriculum program for École Bilingue Chardin.
A huge focus of my work is the development of a bilingual literacy program. The primary objective of our reading curriculum is to foster within the child a desire to read. And how do we do this? By providing the children with a variety of positive reading experiences.
In École Bilingue Chardin, we have developed a thematic approach to learning. This allows children explore areas that are engaging for them and allows them to develop their vocabulary and their awareness of subjects which are of true interest to them. Children explore these things with a variety of materials, from stories, fairytales, poems, and songs, making their experience a pleasure for them.
