Soft Gym

Starting in Preschool and in Elementary School, the students of École Bilingue Chardin take part every day or weekly in group relaxation, yoga, and Pilates workshops whose physical and psychological benefits are apparent at the youngest ages.

Relaxation

The child learn how to relax starting at the age of 2 years. Relaxation allows them to improve their attention span, the quality of their learning, and their well-being. Relaxation can also improve their sense of security and their mood stability, and help them fall asleep.

Unlike adults, however, toddlers are not capable of relaxing by remaining passive and immobile. They need tangible experiences that require the use of their body. This is why at École Bilingue Chardin Preschool and Elementary School the children relax through play.

Two or three minutes of relaxation each day is enough to achieve lasting effects.

Yoga

Refocusing, calming down, being attentive to your whole body, feeling the sensations linked to the movements.

Pilates

With more than 500 exercises, the Pilates method used at École Bilingue Chardin offers specific exercises for each situation according to each student's level and age so that they can, from the earliest age, adopt the right postural base and prevent back pain in particular. From the age of 5, a child’s level of concentration and body awareness are sufficient to participate in Pilates sessions which truly benefit psychomotor development and body control with spatial awareness.

Many practitioners have realized that children can be protected from back pain in their daily lives by encouraging them to adopt good posture.
